Thundercomm is a world leading IoT product and solution provider. Founded in 2016 as a joint venture between ThunderSoft and Qualcomm Technologies, headquartered in San Diego. Leveraging Qualcomm’s world-leading SoC technology and ThunderSoft’s proven expertise in operating system, Thundercomm is now focusing on combing emerging, disruptive technologies, like AI, 5G, IoT and cloud computing to provide comprehensive end-to-end solutions from smart modules to end product for OEM/ODM, enterprises and developers. Based on optimised operating system, embedded with mature AI algorithms and FOTA, Thundercomm empowers smart camera, video conference device, robotics, AR/VR glasses, wearable and industrial handhelds with small RAM, fastboot and low power features to lower the smart product development cost and speed up the product development process from prototype to mass production.

In edge computing, Thundercomm provides device-edge-cloud integrated solutions in manufacturing, traffic, building, retail utilizing edge AI stations, IoT Harbor device management platform and ModelFarm zero-code AI development platform, to accelerate digital transformation of the enterprises.

In 2022, Lightning was jointly established with Qualcomm Technologies. The joint venture will develop and deploy industry solutions and provide a one-stop end-to-end "turnkey" solution covering hardware, software, cloud services and technical support to accelerate the implementation and deployment of customer projects.


In 2021, the shipment of smart modules increased aggressively, enabling tens of millions of smart IoT devices. Smart hardware business expanded to cloud server solutions and video conference terminal solutions.


In 2020, The edge computing series products launched to the market. A joint innovation center was jointly established by Qualcomm Technologies, Thundersoft, and Hangzhou Future Science and Technology City Management Committee. Focusing on the technical application needs of 5G, AI and IoT, providing support for innovative enterprises and institutions in Hangzhou.


In 2019, with the increasing demand for visual professional service, a joint venture of Best Moment was established between Ability Enterprise Co., Ltd and Thundercomm.


In 2018, “Qualcomm Intelligent Internet of Things United Innovation Center” was founded by Thundercomm and Qualcomm Technologies jointly. The United Innovation Center aims at providing technical assessment, R&D support and experimental testing for enterprises to promote IoT development.


In 2017, Thundercomm released the TurboX™ VR DK1, a new generation of VR All-In-One reference design based on the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 Platform. The platform reduced the system latency to less than 18ms by synergistic actions and integrated many algorithms including 6DOF, gesture recognition, and eye tracking.


In 2016, Thundercomm was officially established. In the same year, Thundercomm launched the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ processors based TurboX™ Smart Core Platform, which includes System on Module (SOM), Development Kit (DK), operating system (OS), algorithms and SDKs.
