Thundercomm in collaboration with Qualcomm empowers development for the next generation of AI PCs

On May 21, 2024 – Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced the Snapdragon® Dev Kit for Windows, a compact-form-factor PC powered by Snapdragon® X Elite and specifically designed for developers creating or optimizing apps and experiences for the next generation of AI PCs. Thundercomm provides one-stop service from design to production for the Snapdragon Dev Kit.

Prior to Microsoft Build 2024, Microsoft announced a new generation of Copilot+ PCs with on‑device AI features, which completely ignited the AI PC market. 2024 is regarded as the first year of AI PC in the industry, and PC giants are embracing AI and launching AI PC products to seize the market. According to Canalys^①‘ prediction, the market share of AI PC will reach 19% in 2024. With the integration of the AI PC industry chain and the improvement of ecosystem construction, the entire PC industry will usher in a wave of upgrading. At the same time, the demand for optimization of AI PC applications and experiences will continue to increase.

The Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows is purpose-built to accelerate the next generation of on-device AI applications for PCs, with a GPU performance of 4.6 TFLOPS, equipped with 32GB of LPDDR5x memory and 512GB storage capacity, supporting wireless connections such as Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, and with a rich port configuration that can support up to three UHD screens at the same time. This development kit allows developers to use the powerful 12-core Qualcomm Oryon™ CPU and 45 TOPS NPU to create future AI applications.

Using the native Windows on Snapdragon toolchain, including Visual Studio/VSCode and many other runtimes, libraries and frameworks, the Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows lets developers quickly adapt and recompile Windows applications natively for Snapdragon, helping to deliver PC consumers the best possible experience.

The Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows is now available for pre-sale and will be available for retail early in the summer for $899.
